Early last week, The New York Times Monday morning briefing that arrives in email inboxes across the world wrote about how two out of five people who start a diet for the New Year break it within the first week. They then went on to explain that some scholars say the meat-rich diet of our ancestors of three million years ago lead the Homo species to make tools, and that these tools helped extract nutrients from cooking animals and plants that led to the biological and evolutionary changes that make us who we are today.
