Understanding the Relationship Between Food Allergies & Agriculture

It is estimated that up to 15 million Americans have food allergies. As that number increases, more researchers spend time researching just why these numbers are climbing at an alarming rate. According to the CDC, food allergies among children have increased 50% between 1997 and 2011, with peanut allergies alone tripling between 1997 and 2008 to the point where 1 in 13 children under the age of 18 now have a peanut allergy. That’s a lot of children being rushed to the emergency room.
